depends what piece you are working on. Some tractors they are all moulded together, others they are two pieces.

If it has rivets drill them out on on side and of not ou have to pry the tires off and put a new good axle on and glue the tire onto the axle

3/32 or 1/8 rod will work for the axle. Just depends on what size the hole in the tractor frame is and how you want to attach the tire. Drill out the rivet, then the tires will come off. Sometimes you will mess up that tire by drilling it out too much, so be careful. Usually the tires on that size tractor 3/32 axles and the tires will have holes of the same size. So, drill out the rivet, then expand the hole in the tractor frame with a 1/8 inch drill bit. Cut some 1/8 inch welding rod (get it at any hardware store) to the appropriate length. After you do that, you can force the tires onto the rod. Friction will hold them in place, no glue required!

It'll work, it's easier to do than it is to explain.

Again, the concept is that you have a 3/32 hole in the tire rim that you are forcing onto a 1/8 (4/32) axle. When you want duals put them on, pull them off when you want singles. Be careful and don't do it too often or you'll stretch the tire hole too much.
