Hey guys, How many gallons would a 4-axle houle manure tanker hold? Also how much HP would that require? Could I get away with a MFWD tractor on it?
Thanks, Ricky.B

Depends some different size tanks can come with four axles. As far as HP, that would also got for how many gallons you're talking. A MFWD tractor could vary. A friend of mine does custom spreading and his own spreading with a 6300 tanker. He has a JD 8430 MFWD, CaseIH 340 and 290. They handle them but get worn down quick. Do you plan on going on many hills?

This is a 7300 gallon tanker on an 8310R. A large hill can pull the tractor down fast but otherwise, it works just fine. The tanker has brakes.

7,900 gallons would probably be the most common triple axle size but there are bigger I'm pretty sure. I know that Jamesway has 3 triple axle models: 7,900, 8,500 & 9,600. Like the other two posted you can do it with a MFWD. Once you get to a larger size like a 9,600 that's where I might get a little leery. When you get that many gallons moving back and forth in the tank it can really push a front wheel assist tractor around.

Ok thanks guys. Doing this for my display. Would a challenger 965 work good on a 9500 gallon spreader?

We pulled a Jamesway 7400 gallon, triaxle tank with a JD 4450, and we went up hills, it was really hard on it, then we pulled it with a 8650 JD and it felt like it wasnt even there, a custom guy around us pulls a 4 axle houle with a 9400 JD and thats perfect for it, just depends what land your on
