On march 27 i went down to Urbana, IA to pick up my "new" grain trailer. Its a 2008 timpte and i have to say i love the thing, its in like new condition and i didn't pay too much for it either. ;D also this week some new calves started coming in. Loading up at the bins doing some hauling for ADM. Loading here at a pile from one of their satellite elevators, hauling it to their main corn plant in Marshall, MN already had to fix a flat tho found this little guy earlier last week

Did you guys get hammered by any of the recent snows? Here in Moorhead we got 8.5 on Sunday, back home got about 4. I don't think we'll be starting any time in April this year.

Oh jeez, terribly. this weather has just gotten stupid. Mid April and there is a foot of snow on the ground and the temps in the mid to low 30's......just stupid......and they are calling for maybe another 10 inches by this weekend......to think i planted 40 acres of corn last year on april 11

If i had a day cab and put super singles on the trailer i'd prolly be close to 23,000. A friend of mine has a mack vision day cab with that same trailer but with super singles and ag hoppers. and thats about where he's at. I can usually haul around 980-985. More than those guys with the big peterbilts that weigh around 26000-27000 empty. But i've come to realize when you haul out of a CHS elevator they always load you to 80800, so then i'm darn close, but still prolly not to a full 1000. ADM locations won't let you leave unless the scale says 80000 or less.

I finally got my last calf yesterday. I just wish the weather would straighten up. Cold and crappy and can't buy a rain.

When you are getting paid by how much you can haul and how efficiently, there are many much better choices. Very nice truck. We had a Vision and I really enjoyed driving it.

ADM won't let you leave with with 80,000 or less but down here they don't axle it just gross.. Witch is a problem if you have to go to Ambengoa and your load gets rejected. Because then you gotta cross back into KY and hit the port of entry scales.
Also be careful with your tarp bows hauling ground pile, that's been my job lately (with one of those big long hood Peterbilt's) and I pull a Ancient hawkmaster (all steel) with the bows taken out because loaders here tend to hit them
