Cotton harvest - Part 1

I hadn't saw any cotton harvest pics on here in a while. So I thought I would share some of mine from the collection. I know some of yall saw them before. Or maybe you hadn't.

Here is an older picker. A John Deere 9910. This size is popular in my area. For the small to mid size farmer who plants cotton.





We still use cotton wagons to bring in the crop. Due to the decline of cotton mainly due to prices in the past. Cotton isn't grown in my area like it used to. So the gin never really upgraded. And most farmers kept using the wagons. At one time in the past we had so much cotton in the area, there was 4 gins going to keep up. Now we have only one.

Cotton has made a slight come back in the last few years, however its mostly too late for many. Due to years they was breaking even at most.
