For those of you who don't know, my brother works in the parts department at a Deere dealer, before that a CaseIH dealer. I asked him about this and he said it depends on who's selling it. For someone like Vankley's it'll will be very expensive, because they have no other source of income (except a small job maybe) and they aren't as huge either. For someone like Outback, they have a large Agco dealer as well. So they got plenty of sources for income. Plus they are extremely huge in business. It doesn't depend on brand or manafacture (it never has and never will). If all toy businesses were about the same. All prices would be the same. There is a reason for price ranges.
Though: wait till december and don't worry about it.

I dont think so reason being they only make a authentics for one model usually so there is no higher model.
BUT...It's pointless arguing because all where doing is pissing other people off taking up the thread.

i wasnt talkin about the real models i was talkin about the authentics models the higher the model you go up the higher the price is Trust us when we tell you that you are over thinking things way to much, the price is based upon the level of detail. I am willing to bet this one will cost more than a CIH 7088/6088 authentics simply because this one has more detail (opening side panel for one)

yes that what me and a friend were talkin about today and the only reason the side panel opens is to let the ladder out but i am willing to admit i didnt look at it on a detail level so i was wrong

To me I think the price will be the same as the CIHs. If any increase Im looking at around 1-3 dollars. Since you have to add inflation and falling American dollar value.

Dang, thats good. The 6088 and 7088 was $30 here. So for me thats a good price.

The price is right, even Vankleys has it listed as that. Still not bad for what your getting.

I will be getting at least 2 of the S690 Deere Authentic combines for sure! Its about time that we got a 64th detailed JD combine, now if we could get an Authentic Claas Lexion 770 in 64th as well as the Gleaner S77.

Not to dig up an old topic but I personally touched and handled this combine today. All I will say is that I would take a CIH authentic any day. It is all plastic there is no diecast on this model. It is very light and it just feels flimsy as you hold it. Landon

Even the new NH silage cutter was the same. You should pick up my White 9700 combine. I made from the older Massey combine from Scale. That has some serious weight to him.

It must be cheaper and less of a hassle to make them with less metal/diecast. Landon

Well, I really don't mind the plastic part so much, I am just glad to see a detailed JD combine in 64th. The detail on it looks nice. I will still be buying the 64th S690. As for the diecast part, it would be nice but the detail would not be the same, plus Ertl has to cut costs somewhere, each to their own though. Just my 2 cents.

I saw the S690 at NFTS in the Ertl preview room and to be honest, it didn't look as slick as the Case IH 7088/6088. It's coming with the 40 ft flex draper and 16 row corn head. I forgot to ask if it was coming with a repair truck also.

Plastic is good for detail parts. Main thing I want die cast is the main body and axles. So I feel like I'm getting my $ worth.

After seeing the combine at the showroom. I honestly may not buy one. Compared to the 2 red ones it is a joke. When you raise the feeder house the header sags over all the way to the table. I was very dissapointed when I saw it. The auger seems low when folded out. If the production model is as bad as the prototype they really dropped the ball on that model.
