I saw on Vankleys the new CIH 24 row and 36 row planters. Their production has been canceled. Looks like we won't be seeing some of them anytime soon.
This is a bummer, I was hoping to get the 24 row. So I can use it on my CIH farm I hope to make in the future.

I'm honestly not surprised by this. It seems like one thing after another with them. Maybe cancelling them is a good thing, despite making the hobby mad

I was kind of afraid this was what would end up happening.

its a good thing i picked up that case ih 16 row planter at the last show, because thats the only case ih planter made right now unless you buy a DB planter and paint it to look like a case ih

Wow, this is really bad...well maybe next year then. I take it Spec Cast was making them. With late release of the Bud 740 I bet they are really behind on manufacturing.

Well, bless your..."sprocket"!
I was thinking I needed those two planters but with this dry winter, I might just put in more wheat anyway. Besides, Im making some progress on the 48row.

Spec and Ertl both been late on releases. I know a lot of times they pushed back the production of items. I think its more of the market than being behind. If you look what they offer, most of it is stuff they already made. The latest flyers mostly had stuff that was made in the past just something new added to it like fwa or duals. Which is not much a tooling change. Lot of places are cutting back due to this horrible market we have.

yeah, when is that new john deere planter sapose to come out? Vankleys has the 1770NT to be out in the summer 2012. So unless it gets pushed back farther or canceled. You should have it by next year's corn planting season. Since you can't use it til then.

Really Don't think that Ertl 64th 1770 planter will be all that great to be honest, its probably just the 1790 Planter redecaled as a 1770, unless their is some slight detail changes but its hard to say.
It really Sucks that Spec-Cast Canned the 24 & 36 row Case IH planters as they would have been a big hit, same with that Kinze planter that was also Canned at one time. To be honest, they should have not announced the New CIH planters until they were absolutely sure they were going to be made. Same with that JD 1/16th Planter that was planned... This was the 2nd time that 1/16th Deere Planter got canned.

I agree with you Jason, I would not release info on any product. Unless production hits or unless finalized. And sure it will be made. Cause this creates bad business from a reputation standpoint. All that does is create a lot of customers not happy with your company.

I was reading on TTT about this. And somebody said that CIH might be redesigning there planters and Spec-Cast might make them. I don't know for sure if thats going to happen, but i hope so. You know how companies are. they could have something then change one thing and redecal as a new model.

That could be true, why do a toy if this fall will be a new real one released. Just wait til that one comes out and do it.

You know how companies are. they could have something then change one thing and redecal as a new model. Only ever using JD planters, I don't know much about cih planters other than the old cyclos, but I know a lot of guys that use them admit that jd has a better row unit design. So maybe they will be coming out with a newer row unit. And I know at least the older planters like the 800, and 900 models that "blow" the seed in the ground were terrible for spacing accuracy. I don't know if the new 1250's still do that or not, but if they do I would sure hope they would put individual meters on a redesigned row unit.
